Every Third Saturday of the Month, Sustainable Carlisle hosts a Climate Cafe (previously called the Conversation Cafe) at a local food and drink establishment. It is not minuted but there is a set theme / agenda, to gather our thoughts and focus our attention.
We have covered many issues such as, The Carlisle Flooding, Plastics in the environment, Charles Eisenstein, how to remain optimistic in the face of climate emergency…. and many others.
Its always informative, often entertaining, and remind us that the most important element of Sustainability is developing a Cooperative Community.
Spins offs include Conversation Pub and even Conversation Steam.

In recent years we have been collaborating with Cycle Carlisle as they hold their monthly Slow cycle rides around Carlisle on the same day with the message of ‘Cycling for a Healthier City’, meeting at 11am outside the Railway Station.
